At JM, we can’t believe another year is about to pass. As we approach the end of 2014 and begin 2015, we are recounting all we’re thankful for; and all the challenges we’ve encountered, the clients we’ve gained and the services we’ve expanded on.
This year our Omaha website design and web development team was stretched, taking on extensive projects; including customized ecommerce systems and learning new features and plugins within our robust content management system – WordPress. Our projects have led us to new programming feats, new software implementations and new ecommerce solutions. Our clients’ innovative and unique businesses have provided us with countless learning opportunities.
And while we have always boasted expertise in the website design and development field, our Omaha web design clients are now expanding their reach into search engine optimization (SEO) and responsive design. Our SEO services were launched last year and have peaked an interested in many of our current customers. Additionally, responsive design has taken off this year; and we anticipate it will be a must-have for every website design in the near future.
Additionally, this year our client base has expanded 25% in the year 2014. We are so thankful for the customers we’ve gained this year, the ones we’ve retained and the opportunities for growth we’ve experienced. Recently, Omaha has been featured in national media – CNN, Fox New, Info Wars and other media outlets – for a posting made on the Omaha Police Officers Association (OPOA) website. JM worked with OPOA to design and build its website, and ever since we’ve watched their user base and impact in the community grow.
The particular post receiving recent publicity is difficult to watch and contains disturbing content. But this post is one of several that go out weekly from the OPOA educating the community and police force about local, Omaha criminals, avenues for help and laws that impact Omaha citizens. Using a robust WordPress content management system, OPOA posts news articles, podcasts and videos for the purpose of educating and informing the Omaha community. Previously, we published an article here on our blog about responsive design. If you haven’t read it, please do, as it discusses what responsive design is and why it’s important. There may, however, be some confusion about the difference between mobile websites and websites utilizing responsive design.

According to the research firm Gartner, tablet shipments have seen a significant increase between 2012 and 2013 (120 million units to 202 million units – up approximately 68 percent), and it expects them to see an even bigger growth between 2013 and 2014. Additionally, traditional PC shipments are forecast to total 305 million units in 2013, a 10.6 percent decline from 2012.
