Company History

JM Web Designs was founded by Jonathan S. Patton and Michael A. Ratcliffe in November 1998. Jonathan and Michael, both just 14 at the time, shared a passion for computers, Internet and technology. The two began small, developing Web pages and designing graphics for friends and family members. Jonathan and Michael were kept rather busy by their new project.

Requests increased, as did the positive feedback they received. Jonathan approached Michael about a professional endeavor, melding together their interests, abilities and skills. “I saw an opportunity to become entrepreneurs in the Internet industry,” Jonathan says. “I saw how the business world and job markets centered around computers and Web site development.” And JM Web Designs (the J for Jonathan; the M, Michael) was born.

A few months into their new business, Jonathan and Michael joined the ranks of other Internet businesses. Marketing was next, through search engines, business cards and word of mouth. JM Web Designs quickly grew. But change was on the horizon. Taking advantage of other opportunities, Michael left the company, giving his share to Jonathan. After the transitory period, Jonathan took JM Web Designs to new heights, making it a successful business with satisfied clients. Its staff of 15 employees, based around the world, provides all aspects of Web development.
