Project Description
Cupcake Island is Omaha’s first cupcake shop, founded in 2006 by Ed LeFebvre and Shirley Neary.
It was Ed’s reputation and skill as a baker and Shirley’s desire for a retail storefront that brought them together in this enterprise, offering cakes and cupcakes. The work, fun and creativity began with numerous meetings, lots of research and plenty of tastings.
A location was chosen near 120th and Pacific at 1314 S 19th St. where the only Cupcake Island in Omaha still stands, today. The store’s motto is “Our Cake Stands Alone.”
Cupcake Island survival and celebration of its 5th anniversary in the fall of 2011 is a statement about how many people have been touched by the business and speaks to 5 years of hard work and dedication of our amazing employees. There is great excitement about the future of Cupcake Island!
